As others reviewers mention the playing in the first set up until Dire Wolf is stellar. The Low Sparks has Rob almost leading the boys into Terrapin. Surprised no one has mentioned that one yet? The jams in that first hour are excellent. I saw the first show in Denver on this small tour and its clear the "Q" were bringing it.
The second set is not as strong as the first although the Crptical>Other One> Taste Like Wine is excellent.
The encore sends the set to the stratosphere.

Subject: X-Factor Alert, folks! Obscure little GEM of a show!
Subject: X-Factor Alert, folks! Obscure little GEM of a show!
As an audiophile and rabid Phil Phreak, I normally don't bother downloading AUDs sounding this compressed for keeps, but-- this little baby warms my heart and gets my juices flowing more than even some of the 'boards or matrix recordings in my collection. There's just enough bass presence to satisfy, though yeah, I would have loved more, as well as more depth and dimensional presence, more instrumental sep.,yadda-yadda, blah, blah..."STOP!", my better judgment told me after about 6 or 7 minutes into the Star opener. "Don't make a fool of yourself here!" Miss Music Magic had obviously arrived to take me by the hand and lead me into That Realm. And straight, too. And although yes, like another reviewer here I'm very envious of those who were able to be there that night, I must say to you all that, even on pretty humble little home stereo systems, if you crank the volume up high enough, the X-Factor present that evening will most likely emerge into your room, and deep into your head.

i'm jealous of friends who were in attendance. for those who don't know, roseland is TINY! i was shut out for phish in '93, but heard and danced in front of open windows on a warm night. the sound may have been better outside they were so loud! saw other shows there, but . . .
that there aren't more reviews of this is astounding. this is so far above and beyond most other phil shows that it deserves official release. the dark star sandwich into low-spark is melt city. it's unparalleled, and it sounds like the band is really digging it.
the audience is as loud as you'd expect in a room of 800 +/-. i come back to this disc often. download it, play it loud (roseland shows always are) and you won't regret it.
